About Traccar

Traccar is an open source GPS tracking platform that supports more than 200 protocols, including Rinho devices. It's an excellent option if you want to self-host your tracking platform or if you prefer open source solutions.

Prerequisites

Before starting, make sure you have:

  • ✅ Traccar server installed and running (self-hosted or Traccar Cloud)
  • ✅ Access credentials to your Traccar account
  • ✅ Your Rinho device powered on and with SIM card
  • ✅ Device IMEI number

Step 1: Access Traccar

  1. Go to your Traccar URL or demo.traccar.org for testing
  2. Log in with your credentials
  3. Access the main panel

Step 2: Add a New Device

  1. Click on the "+" icon or "Add"
  2. Fill in the fields:
    • Name: Descriptive name for the vehicle
    • Identifier: The device's IMEI
  3. Click "Save"

Step 3: Configure the Device

The Rinho device needs to be configured to send data to the Traccar server:

Server Information

  • Server: Your server's IP or Traccar domain
  • Port: 5027 (default port for compatible protocol)

Device Configuration

Use the appropriate commands to configure the destination server on your Rinho device.

Step 4: Verify the Connection

  1. Wait 2-3 minutes after configuring
  2. Verify the device appears as "Online" in Traccar
  3. Check the location on the map
  4. Confirm that data is updated correctly
