How to Prepare Your Device for First Use

Initial Considerations

Before starting, make sure you have the following:

  1. SIM Card: The device requires a SIM card with an active data plan. We recommend cards with coverage in the areas where your vehicle operates.
  2. Access to a Tracking Platform: Make sure you have access to a compatible platform such as RedGPS, Wialon, Traccar, or any other that supports our devices.
  3. Technical Documentation: Consult the datasheet of your device to know the available connections and functions.

SIM Card Installation

  1. Locate the SIM card slot on your device
  2. Insert the SIM card in the correct direction
  3. Verify the card is properly positioned before closing the slot

Important: Make sure the SIM card has the PIN code disabled. If needed, insert it into a cell phone and disable the PIN from security settings.

Initial Connection

  1. Connect the power: Connect the red wire to positive (+12V) and the black wire to ground (GND)
  2. Wait for initialization: The device will take approximately 1-2 minutes to initialize and connect to the network
  3. Verify the LEDs: Check the status LEDs to confirm network connection and GPS signal

Platform Configuration

Once the device is powered and connected, you'll need to configure it on your tracking platform:

  1. Add the device: Use the IMEI number to add it to your platform
  2. Select the correct protocol: Devices use specific protocols. Consult documentation for the correct protocol for your device
  3. Verify communication: Confirm that the platform receives data from the device

Verifications

Before completing the installation in the vehicle:

  • ✅ The device sends positions to the platform
  • ✅ Position accuracy is correct
  • ✅ CANBUS parameters are being received (if applicable)
  • ✅ Inputs and outputs work correctly
