Access Control and Driver Management with Rinho

In a world where security and efficiency are key, transportation companies need reliable tools to manage access and monitoring of their vehicles and drivers. At Rinho, we offer an access control and driver management solution based on the iButton and 1-Wire identification built into our IoT devices.
How Does It Work?
Each driver has their own iButton key, with a unique factory code. You load the list of authorized keys into the device and, when the driver touches their key to the reader, the device recognizes it and opens a session in their name. With Rinho devices, you can:
- Identify the driver at the start of the workday.
- Detect attempts with keys that are not authorized.
- Follow the route and driving habits in real time from your platform.
Besides iButton keys (on Spider IoT and Smart IoT), the same identification system supports the ID Band Bluetooth wristband (Spider and Smart), the RF433 remote (Spider only), and manual or platform-side entry. Rinho devices do not include an RFID card reader.

Rinho SMART IoT has two 1-Wire ports for iButton readers and integrates with external peripherals using its serial port.
Authorized List and Driver Sessions
With firmware 1.09.28 you can now store a list of up to 100 authorized drivers (positions 00 to 99) in the device, kept across restarts. Each session records the driver code, start time, duration, time with ignition on and off, and distance driven. And since the key and temperature sensors can now share the same wire, on the Spider IoT you can identify the driver and measure cargo temperature through a single port.
The device also raises signals for the event engine: session active or inactive (IC00), failed login with an unauthorized key (IC03), and the identification of each driver on the list (ICL00…ICL99). With them you can build per-driver rules, for example triggering a buzzer or a relay depending on who touched the key. Engine immobilization without a valid key is configured with rules + output + relay, tailored to your operation.
Key Benefits
- Greater security: you detect any attempt with an unauthorized key and can set up rules to react, reducing the risk of misuse or theft.
- Workday record: each session stores who drove, for how long, and how far.
- Performance monitoring: your platform matches the identification with driving habits to optimize your team's performance.

iButton keys: ensure that only authorized personnel can operate certain vehicles.
Use Cases
Transportation and logistics companies looking to improve the security and control of their fleets will find in this solution an essential tool to ensure that each vehicle is operated efficiently and safely. From shift records to detecting unauthorized access, our IoT devices give you total visibility over each driver's operations. All the technical details are on the iButton and 1-Wire page.
